Privacy policy
This policy explains what information JobFound ("we", "us") collects when you use jobfound.co.za, how we use it, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Information we collect
You don't need an account to use this site. We collect very little:
- Anonymous usage statistics. When you visit a page we record the page address, the date, the type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop) and the website that referred you. To count unique visitors we create a code from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be used to identify you. We do not store your IP address.
- Contact messages. If you use our contact form we store your name, email address and message so we can reply.
- Tool usage counts. We count how many times the CV Maker and Z83 Form Filler are started and downloaded. We do not receive anything you type into these tools.
2. Your CV and Z83 details stay on your device
The CV Maker and Z83 Form Filler run entirely in your web browser. What you type is saved only in your browser's local storage on your own device, so you can come back to it later. It is never sent to our server. You can delete it at any time with the "Start over" button or by clearing your browser data.
3. Cookies and advertising
We do not use cookies for our own statistics. However, we use third-party services that may use cookies:
- Google AdSense. We show adverts provided by Google. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.

4. How we use information
- To understand which pages and tools are useful and improve the site
- To reply to your messages and investigate reported adverts
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Applying for jobs
When you click "Apply" you leave our site and go to the employer's own website or email. Any information you give the employer is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
6. Keeping information
Anonymous statistics are kept for up to 24 months. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request, and then deleted.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its processing. Email info@jobfound.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Children
This site is intended for job seekers aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
